Preserved Crop Production Programs

Identity Preserved Programs (IPP) refer to the set of practices and procedures that ensure the purity and traceability of grain from seed to harvest and beyond can be substantiated throughout the entirety of the Production Value Chain.

This program includes protocols for segregating crops during seed planting, production, processing, and delivery to the market. IP programs can be customized to suit specific tangible requirements of food, ingredient, and feed companies and apply to any crop.

NewMarket promotes two types of IP programs: Hard and Soft. Hard IP programs require stringent protocols and documentation at each crucial stage of the program. In contrast, Soft IP programs can be developed with more lenient exceptions in terms of reporting or methodology.

The success of food manufacturers in developing and marketing their product brands depends on their ability to consistently have timely access to the correct quantities and qualities of the grains they require for their food formulations.

Over the past decade, the mindset of these companies has undergone a significant transformation. Advances in science and proprietary knowledge have enabled them to appreciate the added value of selecting products based on various criteria, such as specific varieties grown in particular production regions under specific agronomic conditions.
